Olaia 4 Light Island Pendant - Matt Black & Amber Glass

The Olaia is a 4-light island pendant built around a 91cm matt black metal bar suspending four amber glass shades, each housing a 6W GX53 LED at 3000K. The amber-toned glass diffuses warm light while the matt black frame provides visual weight and contrast against the translucent shades.

Designed for installation above dining tables, kitchen islands and long console surfaces, the Olaia suits spaces where a linear light source is needed across a 1.5-2m surface length. The suspension height adjusts from a minimum of 30cm to a maximum of 110cm drop, allowing the fitting to be set according to ceiling height and the distance from the bar to the worktop or table below. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations.

The four GX53 LED lamps are included and integrated into the fitting, delivering a combined 2,640 lumens at a warm white 3000K colour temperature. The amber glass filters this further into a soft golden glow that works well in interiors with warm wood tones, terracotta, brass accents and earth-toned palettes. The matt black finish on the bar and canopy minimises reflections and provides a neutral backdrop that allows the amber glass to take visual priority.

Are the LEDs replaceable or integrated?

The four GX53 6W LED lamps are included with the fitting and are replaceable. GX53 is a bayonet-twist fitting, so when a lamp reaches end-of-life it can be twisted out and replaced with a new GX53 LED of equivalent wattage and colour temperature.

What table or island length does the 91cm width suit?

The 91cm bar typically suits dining tables or kitchen islands between 1.5m and 2m in length. For longer surfaces (2.5m+) you may want to consider pairing two Olaia fittings or choosing a longer island pendant from the Schuller range.

How low can the pendant hang above a table?

The minimum drop is 30cm from the ceiling rose to the top of the bar. For a typical dining table or kitchen island, the bar should sit 700-800mm above the surface to avoid headroom issues while providing adequate task light. This works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above.

Can it be dimmed?

The GX53 LEDs included are not dimmable. Pairing the Olaia with a dimmer switch may cause flickering or no output. If dimming is required, check with us before purchase to confirm whether dimmable GX53 replacement lamps are available that match the original specification.
