Description

Small enough to sit almost unnoticed overhead, this is a mini swivel spotlight measuring 50mm across the visible rim, with a head that tilts and turns within its housing so the light can be aimed exactly where you want it. The LED is built in and draws 3W, giving roughly 210 lumens of warm white light in a fairly tight, directional spread rather than a broad wash. A driver is supplied with it, and it runs at a fixed brightness rather than on a dimmer.

We reach for these where a full-size downlight would simply be too much: over alcove shelving, inside glazed display cabinets, above a narrow worktop, in a dressing area, or in a short run along a low hallway ceiling. The narrow beam makes them good at picking out objects, artwork or a stair balustrade, and the swivelling head means an angled or sloping ceiling is no obstacle to getting the light to land properly. They suit anyone who wants accent light doing precise work while the fitting itself stays quiet and small. Suited to dry interior rooms, not to bathroom zones or anywhere exposed to weather.

The trim and body are finished in a plain white that reads as part of a painted ceiling, and the whole thing weighs very little. Class 2 double insulated, so no earth connection is called for. Upkeep amounts to switching off at the wall, letting the fitting cool, then lifting dust from the rim and lens with a dry brush or cloth; solvents and sprays will only cloud the optic. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock the same spotlight in black, and in cooler and warmer versions of the light output, so a single design can be repeated through a house with the tone adjusted room by room. The LED is integral, so there is no lamp to buy.
