Description
Our MiniSpot LED table lamp is a slim, single spot of light for the desk. A round disc base carries an upright stem that bends into a horizontal arm, and at its tip sits one small cylindrical head pointing downwards. The frame is iron in a black finish, and it stands 40cm tall, compact enough to sit at the back of a desk without crowding it. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 3W and gives 260 lumens at 3000K, a warm white, with a colour rendering index of 80 or more, so colours look natural.
This is a lamp for focused work and reading: a desk in a home office, a study table, or a side table beside a favourite chair, as a task light rather than the main light in the room. It dims with a touch dimmer, so you can bring it down for an evening of reading or turn it up for close work, with no separate dimmer switch to fit. It comes with a UK plug, so it plugs straight into a wall socket. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only.
The design is by Cristian Cubiñá, and it keeps to a few clean lines: the disc, the stem, the arm and the head, all in the same black finish, with a small silver-coloured joint where the arm meets the head. Because there is one slim light and nothing else, it suits a pared-back room as well as a busier one. For styling, black sits well against white walls and pale wood or darker plaster and walnut. Set it towards one corner of the desk so the arm reaches in over your papers, and run the cable off to the back.
