Description

The ZONA FLAT-B/B is a microwave motion sensor that switches connected lighting on when it detects movement nearby. It runs on a 220-240V AC mains input and uses microwave (high-frequency) detection rather than infrared, so it can sense motion through thin partitions and reacts to fine movement across its zone. The body is a low-profile flat plastic housing in black, measuring Ø115 by 27 mm, suited to ceiling or surface mounting where a discreet automatic control is wanted.

With an IP20 rating it is for dry indoor use only, such as hallways, landings, stairwells, store rooms and utility spaces, and should be kept out of damp or exposed positions. It controls the switching of the lighting circuit wired to it within its load rating, automating an entrance or walkway so a light comes on as someone approaches. We also stock a range of PIR motion sensors and daylight sensors for other indoor and outdoor switching needs.

Frequently Asked

What detection range and angle does it cover?

It uses microwave detection to sense movement across the area below and around it from its mounting point. Microwave sensing reacts to fine movement and can detect through thin non-metal partitions, so position it to suit the walkway or room you want to automate.

What is the maximum load it can switch?

It switches the lighting circuit wired to it on a 220-240V AC mains supply. Keep the total connected load within the sensor's rated capacity, and split larger lighting groups across more than one control or a contactor if needed.

Can the time and light level be adjusted?

Microwave sensors of this style typically offer adjustment of how long the light stays on after the last detected movement, and a daylight threshold so it only triggers when ambient light is low. Set both to suit the space and the time of day you want it active.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. With an IP20 rating it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept clear of moisture and exposed positions. For outdoor switching choose a weatherproof IP-rated sensor instead.
