Description

The Mercury world to UK travel adaptor converts European, American, Australian, New Zealand and Chinese plug formats into a standard UK 3-pin socket. The adaptor accepts Type A, Type C, Type I and Type G plugs, allowing visitors to the UK to connect their devices to British mains sockets without needing separate adaptors for each plug type.

Designed for short-term residential use and hotel environments, the adaptor suits phone chargers, laptop power supplies, small kitchen appliances and other low-to-moderate draw devices up to 13A (3,000W at 230V). The white thermoplastic housing measures 57 x 52 x 57mm and weighs 62g, making it compact enough to fit into a wash bag or laptop case without taking significant space.

The adaptor is fitted with a 13A fuse and meets both BS8546 (the British Standard for travel adaptors) and BS1363 (the standard for UK plugs and sockets). The fuse provides overcurrent protection, cutting the circuit if the device being powered exceeds the 13A rating. Note that this adaptor is not suitable for side-contact earth plugs — devices requiring earthing must use a plug format with a centre earth pin compatible with the adaptor's socket apertures.
