Description

The Mercury UK to EU travel adaptor converts a standard UK 3-pin plug for use in European Schuko sockets, rated to handle 10A current and loads up to 2300W. The adaptor measures 52 x 52 x 63mm and weighs 50g, designed to fit into hand luggage without taking significant space.

Intended for travellers carrying UK-powered devices into mainland Europe, the adaptor suits laptops, phone chargers, hairdryers, electric shavers and other small appliances within the 2300W limit. The single-outlet design means one adaptor handles one UK plug at a time. For multi-device charging, multiple adaptors or a separate USB charger may be needed.

The white ABS housing provides insulation around the live brass pin and the UK socket apertures. The adaptor complies with BS8546:2016, the British Standard for travel adaptors, covering construction, earthing continuity and thermal performance. Note that this is a plug adaptor only — it does not convert voltage. UK devices rated 230V will work directly, but devices requiring different voltages need a separate transformer.

Does this convert voltage?

No. This adaptor only converts the plug shape to fit European sockets. It does not change voltage. Most modern UK devices (laptops, phone chargers) are dual-voltage 110-240V and will work without a transformer. Check the label on your device before use.

What appliances can it handle?

The 2300W rating handles hairdryers, straighteners, laptop chargers, electric shavers and phone chargers. High-draw appliances like kettles or heaters may exceed the 10A limit and should not be used with this adaptor.

Which countries does it work in?

The adaptor fits Schuko (Type F) sockets used across mainland Europe including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Austria and Greece. It does not fit UK, Ireland or Swiss sockets.

Is it earthed?

The adaptor provides earth continuity through the side contact clips that engage with the Schuko socket's earth strips. UK devices with 3-pin plugs remain earthed when used through this adaptor.
