The Mercury SCP is a euro to UK converter plug that accepts 2-pin European plugs and converts them for use in standard UK 3-pin sockets. The converter carries a 13A fuse and is designed to BS1363 UK socket specification, allowing non-earthed European appliances and chargers to be used safely on UK mains circuits.

Intended for kitchen appliances, phone and laptop chargers, imported electronics and travel use, the converter suits both residential and commercial settings where European-standard equipment needs to connect to UK mains. The compact footprint allows it to fit next to other plugs in a double socket or multi-way extension without blocking adjacent outlets. The moulded impact-resistant black case withstands being dropped in toolboxes, travel bags and desk drawers.

The 13A fuse provides overload protection for devices drawing up to 3,120W on 230V UK mains. The fuse is user-replaceable, allowing the converter to remain in service after a fault event. The pin alignment keeps the European plug seated securely during use, preventing accidental disconnection when appliances are moved or cables are pulled.

The Mercury SCP accepts standard 2-pin European plugs (CEE 7/16 Europlug and similar non-earthed configurations). It does not accept earthed Schuko plugs with side-grounding clips.

Is the fuse replaceable?

Yes. The 13A fuse is a standard BS1362 cartridge fuse and can be replaced by unscrewing the fuse carrier on the face of the plug. Replacement 13A fuses are available separately.

Can it handle high-power appliances?

The 13A rating allows the converter to handle devices drawing up to 3,120W on 230V UK mains. This covers most kitchen appliances, hairdryers and portable heaters, but check the device's power rating before use.

Does it provide earthing?

No. This converter is designed for 2-pin non-earthed European plugs. If the European device requires earthing, a different adapter type is needed.
