Description

The Maive is an articulated floor lamp with a matt black powder-coated metal frame, nickel-plated joints and a single E27 bulb fitting in a conical shade. The arm adjusts on two pivoting joints, allowing the lamp head to be angled towards a desk surface, a reading chair or a wall, with a maximum reach of 700mm from the vertical support when fully extended.

Designed for task and reading applications rather than ambient lighting, the Maive suits home offices, reading corners beside armchairs, and bedside positions where directed light is needed without a fixed ceiling fitting. The weighted base keeps the lamp stable when the arm is extended, and the head-mounted switch allows the lamp to be turned on and off without reaching down to a floor-level control or wall socket.

The matt black powder coat on the frame is a low-sheen finish that minimises reflections and pairs cleanly with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The nickel-plated detailing at the joints and collar of the shade provides tonal contrast without adding warm metallic tones. The lamp accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and brightness to suit the application.

What bulb does the Maive take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading or task work.

How does the arm adjust?

The arm pivots on two nickel-plated joints, one at the base and one mid-arm. Both joints allow the lamp head to be repositioned and angled, with a maximum reach of 700mm from the vertical support when fully extended.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable and has a switch mounted on the lamp head for on/off control only. If you need dimming, you would need to use a dimmable E27 bulb and control it via an external dimmer or smart home system.

Can it be used as a desk lamp?

Yes. The adjustable arm and weighted base make it suitable for positioning beside a desk or workbench, where it can be angled to illuminate a keyboard, document or work surface without taking up desk space itself.
