Description

A small disc head in black, this is a directional spotlight for a low voltage track system, with the LED built in rather than lamped. The light source is warm white at 3000K, drawing 20W and putting out around 1600 lumens, so it gives a firm, focused pool rather than a general wash. It is dimmable through a triac dimmer, which is a separate part of the system, and the driver comes with the head.

We reach for these where light needs to land on something in particular: a run of worktop, a picture wall, shelving in an alcove, or a dining table in a room with no obvious central point. Because the heads sit on a track, you can space them along a line and shuffle the balance of the room later without touching the wiring. It suits open plan kitchens, studios and hallways, and anyone who would rather aim light than flood a ceiling with it. The head is compact enough to read as a row of quiet discs from below.

The body and disc are finished in black throughout, matt and unfussy, with the disc face recessed slightly into the housing. It is an earthed Class 1 fitting for dry indoor rooms, and it carries a three year warranty. To clean, isolate the circuit first and let the head lose its heat, then take dust off the disc and stem with a dry lint free cloth; nothing wet and no solvents near the lens. We stock the wider Magneto range alongside it, including one metre surface and recessed track with end caps, deep and shallow L-joints for corners and wall to wall runs, spare end cap sets and the triac controller the system needs, so a scheme can be built up in stages. Mixed with pendants on the deep track, it does the working light while something softer does the mood.

Yes. Dimming is triac based and needs a compatible triac dimmer on the system, which is not supplied with the head. The range includes a triac and push switch dimmable controller for 12 to 48V systems, rated up to 720W, with one controller per system.
