Description

The LYYT 12V pink LED strip light is a 5m reel carrying 60 SMD3528 LEDs per metre, supplied with a 12V 2000mA power supply, UK plug adaptor, and DC connector for immediate installation. The strip emits pink light at 6 lumens per LED and can be cut at 5cm intervals to fit cupboards, alcoves, shelving, vehicle interiors, or any run requiring accent lighting under 5m.

The IP65 silicone coating protects the strip against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for kitchens, bathrooms under shelving or cabinetry, and sheltered outdoor locations such as covered patios or caravan awnings. The self-adhesive backing bonds to clean, dry surfaces including painted wood, melamine, metal, and glass, though permanent fixing with cable clips is recommended where the strip will be exposed to vibration or high humidity over time.

Operating at 12Vdc and drawing 4.08W per metre (20.4W total for the full 5m reel), the strip runs cool to the touch and is safe for installation in confined spaces where mains voltage tape would require additional earthing and insulation. The 130-150° beam angle from each SMD3528 LED gives wide lateral spread along the tape, avoiding the striped effect sometimes seen with narrow-beam strip products. At 25,000-hour rated lamp life under typical domestic use, the LEDs outlast filament and halogen equivalents by a factor of ten or more.

The kit includes 1.2m of cable from the UK plug to the power supply adaptor, and a further 1.2m from the adaptor to the DC connector that clips onto the strip. This gives flexibility to position the power supply away from the strip itself, useful when the strip is being installed inside furniture or behind panels where the power supply would not fit.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. The strip has cut marks every 5cm along its length. Cut only at these marked points to avoid damaging the circuit. Once cut, the remaining section can be reconnected using additional DC connectors (sold separately).

Is the strip dimmable?

The strip itself is not dimmable via the included power supply. Dimming requires a separate 12V PWM dimmer controller installed between the power supply and the strip. Please contact us if you need a compatible dimming solution.

Where can the IP65 strip be installed?

IP65 protection allows installation in kitchens, bathrooms (avoiding direct spray zones), and sheltered outdoor locations such as covered patios, caravan awnings, or vehicle interiors. The strip is not submersible and should not be installed in areas subject to pooling water or direct hose-down.
