The cage structure comprises vertical metal ribs curving from a solid top plate to a base disc, creating an open framework that allows wind to pass through without toppling the lamp while maintaining IP44 splash protection.

Designed for patios, decking, garden pathways and courtyard corners, the Luxtra operates on mains power via a 2.5m black neoprene cable with a UK plug. The downward light emission keeps the glow low and contained, avoiding glare across outdoor seating areas while providing enough ambient light for evening use. The 55cm footprint suits placement beside outdoor furniture or along pathway edges where a taller lamp post would obstruct sightlines.

The brown powder-coated finish resists weather exposure and pairs with natural timber decking, terracotta paving and warm-toned outdoor furniture better than black or grey alternatives. The rough opal diffuser softens the LED output and hides the light source itself when viewed from above or at sitting height. Can the Luxtra be left outdoors all year?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction and the powder-coated metal resists corrosion in typical UK weather. However, the lamp should be unplugged and stored indoors during prolonged freezing conditions or heavy snow to extend its lifespan.

How is the lamp powered?

The Luxtra connects to mains power via a 2.5m black neoprene cable with a UK plug. You will need access to an outdoor socket or an extension lead rated for outdoor use. The lamp cannot be battery-powered or solar-charged.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 18W LED module is integrated into the lamp structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 10 years at typical outdoor usage patterns of 8 hours per evening.

What surface can it sit on?

The Luxtra works on any flat outdoor surface including decking, paving, concrete, gravel or short grass. The base disc spreads the weight to prevent sinking into softer surfaces, but on loose gravel or long grass a paving slab underneath may improve stability.
