Description

Five amber shades hang beneath a round polished chrome plate, each drawn into the tapered wine glass form that gives the range its name. The plate measures 45cm across, so the fitting reads as one gathered cluster rather than a line. Every flex is adjustable, which lets you sit the shades neatly level with one another or stagger them at varying heights for a looser, more scattered arrangement. The amber tints the light as it passes through, for a honeyed glow rather than a bright white one.

It suits a dining table well, where the cluster can be centred and the shades dropped to just above eye level, and it works equally over a kitchen island or in a generous hallway. The long adjustment makes it a good choice for a tall room or a landing with height to fill. It takes E27 lamps, one behind each shade, and we would reach for clear filament style LEDs here so the glass shape and the warmth of the tint both stay in view. Dimming is possible with compatible lamps and a separate dimmer.

The frame and plate are finished in polished chrome, bright enough to pick up the amber above it, and each shade carries the amber colour throughout rather than as a surface coat. Keep lamps at or below 20W each. For upkeep, run a lint free cloth over the chrome now and then and lift dust from the shades with a soft brush, working with the light switched off and cool. It carries a one year warranty. The same amber wine shade appears elsewhere in the range on a single light flush fitting, in polished chrome or antique gold, if you want the smaller rooms of a house to echo the dining room. Lamps are not included.
