Lori E27 3 Light Wine Pendant Light 40cm Amber - Polished Chrome

Three amber shades hang from a round polished chrome plate, each flaring at the shoulder and drawing in at the neck like the bowl of a wine glass. The plate measures 40cm across. Every drop is adjustable on its own, so the shades can sit level in a neat row or step down at different heights. Polished chrome picks up the amber and throws a little of it back. Lamps are E27, and the fitting will dim happily enough given suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer on the circuit.

We would hang it over a long dining table or a kitchen island, where a central pendant tends to leave the ends of the run in shadow. Because the suspension extends to 2.27m in total, it also works in a stairwell or a double height hall, and it shortens right back where the ceiling is ordinary. The amber cast suits rooms already leaning warm: walnut, oiled oak, brass taps, terracotta tile. In a cooler scheme it becomes the warm note in the room. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, though, since a shower room or a covered porch asks for something sealed.

The metalwork is polished chrome throughout, and the amber shades carry all the colour. Dust settles on the upper curves first; take it off with a dry microfibre cloth, and leave the chrome dry rather than reaching for a spray, which can mark it over time. It carries a one year warranty. The same wine shade runs through the rest of the range on flush fittings, in amber over polished chrome and in opal over antique gold, so a hall or landing can follow the dining table. Lamps are not included.

What lamps do I need for it?

Three E27 lamps, up to 20W each. An LED to suit the shade shape works best here, and lamps are not supplied with the pendant.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a compatible dimmer. Neither the lamps nor the dimmer are included.

How far down does it hang?

The drop runs from 270mm at its shortest to 2270mm at its longest, and each of the three shades adjusts separately within that.

How wide is the ceiling plate?

The round plate is 400mm, so allow a little space around it when you are planning the position over a table or island.

How should I clean the shades?

Switch off at the wall and let everything cool, then wipe the shades and chrome with a dry soft cloth. Avoid sprays and abrasive creams on the polished finish.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means dry indoor rooms only, so keep it to kitchens, dining rooms, halls and living spaces.
