Description

Three slim curved trapezium shades in clear glass hang from a linear bar finished in satin nickel, spaced along a run of 850mm. The shape is narrow and tapered, so the glass reads as outline rather than mass and the lamp inside stays part of the picture. Satin nickel gives a soft grey sheen rather than a mirror shine, which keeps the metalwork quiet and lets the glass do the work.

It earns its place over a kitchen island, a long worktop or a dining table, anywhere you want light spread along a length instead of gathered in a single pool. The drop adjusts across a wide span, so it can sit up close beneath a low ceiling or fall deep into a room with height to play with. We would put warm white LED lamps in it and choose them with care, because clear glass puts the lamp on show. Each holder is E27. Dimming is possible if you pair suitable lamps with a suitable dimmer, though neither is supplied.

The build is glass and metal, and the satin finish hides handling better than a polished one. Clear glass shows fingermarks more readily than tinted, so give the shades an occasional buff with a dry lint free cloth once the lamps are cool and the power is off, and keep polishes and solvents away from the nickel. This is a fitting for dry rooms indoors, wired to an ordinary household circuit. It carries a one year warranty. The same slim curved trapezium shade turns up elsewhere in the range on flush fittings, in polished chrome and antique gold, useful if a hall or landing needs to answer the dining room.
