Description

Three slim curved trapezium shades hang from a round 40cm ceiling plate, all of it finished in chrome so the metal carries through from plate to shade edge. The shapes taper and bow gently, narrow at the top and wider at the mouth, and polished chrome picks up whatever light is already in the room. Each shade takes its own E27 lamp, and the drop is adjustable.

We would hang it over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the spread of the shades covers more of the surface than a solitary pendant manages, and it earns its place in a hall or on a stairwell landing with the height to carry it. Because the drop adjusts over a long span, it can sit low above a table or pull up close to the ceiling where there is less room to play with. Lamps of up to 20W each are fine, and we would choose warm white LED globes for a soft glow; add suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer if you want the level to come down after dark.

Construction is metal throughout, plate and shades alike, with the polished chrome finish carried across every part. A mirror bright surface shows fingermarks and dust, so keep a dry microfibre cloth for the shades and buff along the curve rather than across it, and leave household sprays and cream cleaners well away from the plating. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included. The same range runs to smaller flush fittings, offered in this polished chrome with matching chrome shades, and in antique gold with amber or smoke shades if you would rather the light came through warmer.

How far down does it hang?

The plate measures 400mm across and the drop is adjustable from 270mm at its shortest to 2270mm at its longest, so it can be set tight to the ceiling or dropped well down over a table.

Which lamps does it take?

It takes three E27 lamps, each rated to a maximum of 20W. LED is the sensible choice, and the right shape depends on how much of the lamp you want sitting within the trapezium shade. Lamps are supplied separately.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. No dimmer is supplied with the pendant.

How should the chrome be looked after?

Switch off at the wall and let everything cool, then use a dry microfibre cloth on the plate and shades, working along the curve. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and cream cleaners, which will dull plated chrome.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. Rated IP20, it is intended for dry indoor rooms such as dining rooms, kitchens, halls and landings, away from steam and splashes.
