La Carga is a 180cm sculptural floor lamp built around a matt black fiberglass and polyester resin figure holding six opal acrylic globes, each housing a 20W E27 bulb. The figure stands on two elongated legs with a circular base approximately 69cm deep and 77cm wide, creating a 14.2kg floor piece that combines ambient light with a strong visual presence.

Designed for high-ceiling residential spaces, gallery environments, commercial lobbies and hospitality interiors where lighting needs to work as statement art, the lamp provides six individual light sources distributed across the figure's arms and torso. Each opal globe diffuses the 3000K warm white output from the E27 bulbs, creating pools of soft ambient light rather than directed task illumination. The matt black finish on the figure contrasts sharply with the translucent opal spheres when lit, turning the sculptural form into a focal point after dark.

The fiberglass and polyester resin construction allows the thin, extended limbs to support the weight of the six globes without metal reinforcement showing through the surface. The matt black finish is applied as a spray coating over the composite material, giving a consistent surface across the complex geometry of the figure. The circular base is weighted to counterbalance the raised centre of gravity created by the cluster of globes held above the torso, providing stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs without needing wall-mounting or additional anchoring.

La Carga is part of Schuller's art-lighting collection from Spain, where decorative lighting pieces are designed to function as sculpture first and practical illumination second. The 6 x 20W total output (120W combined) provides sufficient ambient light for a 20-25 square metre room when used as supplementary lighting alongside ceiling fittings or wall lights. The E27 bulbs are user-replaceable, allowing the colour temperature and brightness to be adjusted by swapping to different LED or halogen bulbs as needed.

No. The lamp takes six E27 bulbs up to 20W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K to match the opal diffusers.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 180cm height suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In lower-ceiling spaces the upper globes may feel visually compressed against the ceiling plane.

Is it stable on carpets and rugs?

The weighted circular base provides stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs. On thick or shag rugs the 14.2kg weight may cause the base to sink slightly, affecting stability — a hard floor or low-pile surface is recommended.

Can the bulbs be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used. If you fit dimmable E27 LED bulbs and connect the lamp to a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, yes. The lamp itself has no built-in dimming control.
