Description

The Itech is a surface-mounted emergency light fitting that draws 4.5W and delivers 478 lumens at a crisp 5000K, the cool daylight tone specified for clear escape-route visibility. The round body measures Ø170 by 66.5mm and fixes either to the ceiling or the wall, making it a flexible choice across a building's emergency layout. In US terms this sits in the emergency luminaire family used to mark exits and circulation routes; here it runs on 220 to 240V AC mains and keeps a charged battery ready to take over the moment supply is lost.

This C2 fitting is built for the practical jobs an emergency luminaire is asked to do: lighting corridors, stairwells, lobbies and plant rooms so people can move safely when the mains fails. Because it is not ambient room lighting, its job is to mark the escape route rather than light a space to a working level, so its 478 lumens are spread along walkways and over doorways where they matter most during an evacuation. With an IP65 rating it also covers exposed outdoor positions and damp or wet utility areas such as car parks, loading bays and external stair access, where lesser-rated fittings would not be permitted.

The casing is white plastic rated IP65, so it shrugs off dust ingress and water jets and stays serviceable in both sheltered and fully exposed locations. It mounts to the surface of a ceiling or wall with no recess required, and the integral battery powers the LED during a mains failure. The cool 5000K output and compact round form keep it discreet until it is needed. Our Itech emergency range includes further outputs and mounting options to match different sites and duration requirements.

Frequently Asked

Is this a maintained or non-maintained emergency light?

This C2 model is a maintained fitting, meaning the LED can stay lit during normal mains operation and continues to run from its internal battery if the supply fails. This makes it suitable for areas that need constant illumination as well as emergency cover, such as public corridors and stairwells.

How long does it stay lit on battery during a power cut?

The fitting holds a standard three-hour emergency duration, which is the common requirement for escape routes in occupied buildings. The battery recharges automatically once mains power returns, keeping it ready for the next test or event.

Can it be used outdoors or in wet areas?

Yes. With an IP65 rating it is protected against dust and water jets, so it is suitable for exposed outdoor positions and damp utility locations such as car parks, loading bays and external stairs. It performs equally well in sheltered indoor circulation areas.

How should the fitting be cleaned and tested?

Wipe the white plastic cover with a soft damp cloth, avoiding solvents that could dull the surface. Emergency fittings should also be function-tested regularly in line with site procedure, with a longer duration test carried out periodically to confirm the battery still holds its rated run time.
