Description

The Irias is a 149cm floor lamp built from metal with a matt black finish and satin copper detailing on the shade neck, arm joint and base trim. The shade tilts on a friction hinge, allowing the light to be directed towards a reading position, a desk surface, or angled upward as wash light. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb up to 20W (sold separately).

Designed as task lighting for reading corners, beside sofas, and home office positions, the Irias provides directed light without needing a fixed ceiling fitting. The 35cm-diameter weighted base gives stability on bare floors and short-pile rugs. The gooseneck arm extends the shade approximately 23cm forward from the vertical stem, positioning the light source closer to the chair or desk edge than a straight-column floor lamp would.

The matt black body minimises reflections and pairs cleanly with mid-century, industrial and contemporary interiors. The satin copper accents at the shade collar, arm pivot and base ring provide warm metallic contrast without the high shine of polished copper. At 3.65kg the lamp has enough weight to resist tipping when the shade is angled but remains light enough to reposition between rooms. The IP20 rating limits the lamp to dry indoor use only.

What bulb does the Irias take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading or task lighting.

Can the shade be adjusted?

Yes. The shade tilts on a friction hinge at the gooseneck arm, allowing it to be angled towards a reading position, down onto a desk, or tilted upward to bounce light off a wall or ceiling.

Is assembly required?

Yes. The lamp ships flat-packed and requires assembly. The Downloads section includes a PDF assembly instruction guide. Assembly typically involves attaching the base, vertical stem, gooseneck arm and shade, then connecting the internal wiring before fitting a bulb.

Is it stable on carpet or rugs?

The 35cm-diameter weighted base provides stability on bare floors and short-pile rugs. On thick or shag rugs the base may benefit from being placed where it sits partly on bare floor, especially when the shade is angled far forward.
