Description

The Irias is an 88cm three-light island pendant from Schuller, pairing a matt black bar and canopy with three satin copper shades suspended from height-adjustable cables. Each shade houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) rated up to 20W, with the copper interior reflecting light downward onto worktops, dining tables or bar counters. The shades sit evenly spaced along the bar, providing distributed task lighting across a 1.8-2.4m run.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and peninsulas in open-plan interiors, the Irias suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The drop adjusts from 40cm minimum to 140cm maximum on installation, allowing the bar to sit 700-900mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on the room. Gravity toggles are included to lock the fixture securely to the ceiling once the desired height is set. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments.

The black bar and canopy provide a neutral frame that recedes visually, while the satin copper shades catch daylight and emit a warm glow when lit. The copper finish works within industrial, rustic and contemporary schemes, pairing particularly well with exposed brick, warm timber joinery, brass hardware and earthy textiles. The matt black minimises fingerprints and reflections compared to gloss finishes. At 1.97kg total weight, the fitting requires a standard ceiling rose and typical domestic ceiling support.

Each of the three shades takes a standard E27 bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining applications.

What surface length does it suit?

The 88cm bar width works best over surfaces 1.8-2.4m long, such as a kitchen island, breakfast bar or dining table. The three evenly spaced shades distribute light along the run without creating dark patches between bulbs.

How is the drop height adjusted?

The cables are adjustable during installation, with a minimum drop of 40cm and maximum of 140cm. Gravity toggles lock the cables at the desired height once the fitting is positioned correctly above the surface. Adjustment after installation requires accessing the ceiling fixing.

Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoor covered area?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable only for dry indoor locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens zones 0-2, or any outdoor location even if covered.
