Description
The Illusis is a semi-flush ceiling light with eight G9 bulb fittings housed within a 405mm diameter polished chrome canopy, from which approximately 200 clear glass spheres cascade on thin nylon threads. The spheres vary in size from 10mm to 40mm diameter and hang at different lengths, creating a waterfall effect that extends roughly 250mm below the ceiling plate.
Designed for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights where a full chandelier drop would hang too low, the semi-flush design keeps the main body close to the ceiling while the glass sphere droplets add decorative depth. The fitting suits entrance halls, dining rooms above a table, and living rooms where ambient light needs to be paired with decorative presence. The eight G9 sockets take halogen or LED capsule bulbs (sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness.
Each glass sphere is hand-threaded onto individual nylon lines attached to the chrome canopy, so the droplets move slightly in air currents from doors opening or heating. The polished chrome reflects light from the bulbs back through the glass, amplifying the sparkle effect when the fitting is switched on. The nylon threads are designed to hold tension without stretching, keeping the spheres at consistent drop heights over time.
The IP20 rating limits the Illusis to dry interior spaces only — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor covered areas. The chrome canopy measures 405mm across and requires a ceiling rose capable of supporting approximately 3kg once bulbs are fitted. The fitting is dimmable when paired with compatible G9 dimmable bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take and are they included?
The Illusis takes eight G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 bulbs are available in halogen (typically 28W-40W) and LED (3W-5W equivalent). For the best light output paired with the glass spheres, warm white LEDs at 2700K-3000K work well.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, but only when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer.
What ceiling height does it suit?
The semi-flush design works in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings. The glass sphere droplets extend approximately 250mm below the chrome canopy, so the lowest spheres hang around 2.15m above the floor when fitted to a 2.4m ceiling.
Can the glass spheres be replaced if one breaks?
The spheres are individually threaded onto nylon lines. Contact Ideal Lux or Niori for replacement sphere availability if damage occurs during installation or use.
