Description

The Icon is a 20cm tall LED table lamp built around a rounded smoke glass shade suspended over a polished chrome stem and circular base. The integrated 5W LED inside the shade casts 500 lumens of 3000K warm white light through the tinted glass, which softens the output and reduces glare while maintaining visibility of the internal frosted bulb shape as a secondary design detail.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and side consoles where space is limited, the 15cm diameter footprint fits smaller surfaces without crowding the area. The smoke glass finish suits interiors with darker palettes, monochrome schemes, or industrial-leaning materials (exposed concrete, blackened steel, charcoal textiles). The polished chrome base reflects surrounding light and provides visual weight to balance the glass volume above.

The lamp is controlled by an inline rocker switch on the cable rather than a base-mounted switch, keeping the chrome plinth uninterrupted. The 5W output is enough for ambient bedside lighting or supplementary desk lighting in conjunction with a primary task light, but not sufficient as a sole work light for detailed tasks. The IP20 rating limits the Icon to dry indoor locations only.

Is the Icon dimmable?

The integrated 5W LED is not dimmable. The lamp operates at a fixed 500 lumen output when switched on via the inline rocker switch on the cable.

How is the lamp switched on and off?

The Icon uses an inline rocker switch on the mains cable rather than a switch on the base. This keeps the chrome plinth visually clean but means the switch sits partway along the cable between the lamp and the wall socket.

Is 5W bright enough for reading?

The 5W output and 500 lumens suit ambient bedside lighting or supplementary desk lighting, but are not sufficient as a sole reading light for sustained tasks. Pair the Icon with a dedicated task light if using it on a desk or reading position.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Icon is suitable for dry indoor locations only and should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or steam.
