Description

The Halvessa is a slim floor lamp in black, with a single alabaster globe held at the top of a tall arched frame. The frame is iron, two upright rods that rise from a round base and meet in a rounded arch over the globe, and it stands 108cm tall and 18cm across. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4.5W and gives 270 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a colour rendering index of 80+. Shining through the alabaster, the light picks out the veining in the stone.

At 18cm across, it fits the narrow places a wider floor lamp cannot, and we like it beside a sofa or armchair, in the corner of a bedroom, at the end of a hallway or next to a console table. With 270 lumens it gives a gentle, warm glow rather than a working light, so it suits evenings and quiet corners. It is not dimmable, so it stays at one steady level of light and does not need a dimmer. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only. It comes with a UK plug.

The frame is iron with a black finish throughout, from the round base to the top of the arch. The globe is alabaster, a natural stone with cloudy veining that comes to life once the LED is on and sits quietly when it is off. It is a Class II fitting with an energy class of E.
