Description
The Halcyra is a 30cm diameter outdoor flush ceiling light with a white plastic housing, an integrated 13W LED, and an IP44 moisture resistance rating. The LED provides switchable colour temperature between 3000K warm white and 4000K neutral white, allowing you to choose between ambient and task-oriented lighting depending on the space.
Designed for covered outdoor areas such as porches, carports, balconies and external hallways, the Halcyra's IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction but is not suitable for direct rain exposure. The 40mm profile sits almost flat against the ceiling, making it suitable for lower ceiling heights in lean-to canopies and external corridors where projection needs to be minimal. Indoors, the IP44 rating allows installation in bathrooms, utility rooms and kitchens where moisture is present.
The white polycarbonate diffuser spreads the 13W LED output evenly across the 30cm diameter face, giving enough coverage for a 2-3m square porch area or a small bathroom without creating glare or visible LED hotspots. The flush-mount design fixes directly to a standard ceiling rose using three screws and the 1400mm integrated cable provides enough length to reach most UK ceiling connections without needing an extension. The white finish pairs cleanly with most external cladding, render and painted surfaces.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used outdoors in all weather?
The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor locations such as porches, carports and balconies. It is not rated for direct rain exposure or full outdoor weather conditions. Install under an overhang or canopy where the fitting is sheltered from direct rainfall.
How do you switch between 3000K and 4000K?
The colour temperature is typically selected via a switch on the driver unit inside the housing before final installation. Check the included instructions for the exact method on this model — some Ideal Lux fittings use a physical switch, others use multiple power-on cycles to change setting.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The 40mm height means the fitting projects minimally from the ceiling surface, making it suitable for rooms or covered areas with ceiling heights as low as 2.1-2.2m without creating a head-strike hazard.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The IP44 rating allows use in UK bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure and bath area). It is not rated for zone 1 (directly above a bath or inside a shower cubicle). Ensure the fitting is positioned at least 600mm away from the edge of a bath or shower tray.
