Description

The Halcyra is a 40cm flush ceiling light with an integrated 26W LED and adjustable colour temperature (3000-4000K) behind a black plastic housing. The IP44 rating provides protection against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas, bathrooms, utility rooms and kitchens where moisture is present but not direct water spray.

Designed for low-ceiling spaces where a pendant would hang too low, the 40mm profile sits close to the ceiling while distributing light across a room area of approximately 10-12m². The flush-mount design works in hallways, cloakrooms, covered porches, outdoor walkways under eaves, and bathrooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a semi-flush or pendant would feel intrusive. The light fits standard UK ceiling roses and the 1400mm cable allows for adjustment during installation.

The black finish on the housing provides contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings and pairs with modern, industrial and Scandinavian interiors. The plastic construction keeps the weight down to under 1kg, reducing strain on ceiling fixings compared to metal or glass equivalents. The colour temperature adjustment allows the user to switch between warm white (3000K) for evening use and neutral white (4000K) for task-focused daytime lighting, though once set during installation the temperature is fixed until the fitting is opened again.

What does IP44 mean and where can it be used?

IP44 provides protection against water splashes from any angle but not direct jets or submersion. The Halcyra is suitable for bathrooms (zone 2 and 3, not directly above a bath or shower), covered outdoor areas like porches and walkways under eaves, and kitchens where steam and splashes occur.

Is the colour temperature adjustable?

Yes, but only during installation. The fitting has a switch inside the housing that allows selection between 3000K (warm white) and 4000K (neutral white). Once the cover is fitted and the light is installed, the colour temperature remains fixed until the fitting is opened again.

Can it be used on a low ceiling?

Yes. The 40mm profile makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendant or semi-flush fittings would hang too low or feel visually heavy.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not compatible with dimmer switches.
