Description

This is a flat disc LED lamp with a GX53 cap, made for the shallow fittings that will not take a conventional bulb. The face is white and diffused, and the light leaves it across a wide spread rather than a tight beam, so it fills a recess evenly. Output sits at 960 lumens from 12W, and the colour is a crisp neutral white at 4000K: clean and a little brisk, good where you want to see clearly rather than settle in. It is not dimmable, so pair it with a plain switch.

GX53 lamps live in low-profile places. We fit them in kitchen cabinet and plinth lights, in shallow ceiling fittings where depth is tight, and in cupboards, larders and wardrobes where a working light matters more than mood. The cool white reads well against pale worktops and white units, and it suits utility rooms, garages, workshops and home offices. It is for dry rooms indoors, on ordinary mains, so keep it out of shower zones and away from anywhere that gets wet. If you want something softer for a sitting room, one of the warmer versions in the range will serve better.

The body is white throughout, with a plain circular face that disappears into the fitting once lit. Cleaning: with the power off at the switch and the lamp cool, wipe the face with a dry cloth to clear dust and kitchen film, which dulls the output before anything else does. It carries a two year warranty.
