Description

The Gunnislake is a single-light bathroom wall light with a tapered prismatic glass shade on a polished chrome mounting arm and backplate. The fitting carries an IP44 rating for splash-resistance in bathroom zones 2 and 3, and includes a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K that sits inside the glass shade. The prismatic glass diffuses the light output, reducing glare and creating ambient wash across adjacent wall surfaces.

The light can be mounted with the shade facing upwards or downwards depending on installation preference and room layout. Two finials are supplied — a short cap that sits close to the backplate (200mm overall height) and a longer finial that extends the fitting to 260mm height. The longer finial creates more visual weight and suits higher ceilings or taller wall mounting positions, while the short cap keeps the profile compact for bathroom cabinets or lower wall positions.

The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-like reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings. The 181mm projection from the wall clears most basin mirrors and bathroom cabinets when mounted either side. The prismatic glass is pressed with a grid pattern that refracts light through the shade, turning the glass itself into the diffuser rather than relying on frosting or etching.

What bathroom zones is the IP44 rating suitable for?

The IP44 rating makes the Gunnislake suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers positions outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure. It is not rated for zone 0 (inside a shower enclosure) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower tray).

Can the light direction be changed after installation?

Yes. The shade and finial can be unscrewed and re-mounted in the opposite orientation (upwards or downwards) without re-wiring the backplate. This allows you to adjust the light direction if your room layout changes.

What's the difference between the two finials?

The short cap sits close to the backplate, giving an overall height of 200mm. The long finial extends the fitting to 260mm, creating a taller profile. Both are supplied with the light, and you choose which to fit during installation based on your preferred proportions.

Is the bulb replaceable?

Yes. The Gunnislake uses a standard G9 LED bulb rated at 3W. If the bulb fails, replacement G9 LEDs are widely available and the shade can be removed to access the bulb holder.
