Grove Animal Polyester Cushion - Olive

This outdoor cushion carries a hand-painted watercolour hedgehog, curled against a soft olive green ground and surrounded by strawberries and leaves. It measures 43 x 43cm, a standard square that sits comfortably on a garden bench, an outdoor sofa or a wide chair without swamping the seat. The face is printed in fine detail on polyester, and the reverse is plain, so you can turn the cushion to a quiet block of colour whenever the print has done its work.

It is built for life outside. The polyester is UV resistant, so the colours hold up under long summer light rather than fading over a season, and it is water resistant, which means a passing shower or a spilled drink does not soak straight in. That makes it a sensible choice for a patio set, a covered porch or a bench by the back door, somewhere it will meet sun, damp and the occasional splash. Indoors it works just as well on a reading chair or a window seat, where the woodland scene suits a country-styled room. It sits happily among the other animal designs in the Grove range, which share the same olive ground and painterly wildlife.

The cover is finished with a knife edge, giving it clean, flat corners rather than a piped border, and it closes with a zip so the cover can come off for cleaning. The whole thing is designed, printed and made in the UK. To style it, group it with the hare, pheasant or Highland cow from the same range for a set that reads as a small gathering of British nature, or let the hedgehog stand alone against plainer cushions so the watercolour has room to be seen.

Can this cushion be left outside?

It is made from UV and water resistant polyester, so it is designed to cope with sunshine, showers and spills. For longer life we would still bring it in over winter or during heavy weather.

Does the print appear on both sides?

No. The hedgehog watercolour is on the front, and the reverse is a plain olive block, so you can turn it to show either the design or a quiet solid colour.

How do I clean it?

The cover closes with a zip, so it can be removed. As the record does not give washing instructions, we would suggest a gentle wipe and checking any care label before more thorough cleaning.

What size is it and where does it fit?

It is a 43 x 43cm square, which suits a garden bench, an outdoor sofa or a wide chair, and works equally well indoors on a reading chair or window seat.

Is there a matching set?

Yes. The Grove range includes other animal designs, including a hare, a pheasant and a Highland cow, all on the same olive green ground for an easy coordinated look.
