The Glistenis is a 77mm round trim frame designed to fit over the aperture of recessed downlight fittings, concealing the cut-out edge and providing a clean white bezel around the lamp. The frame clips onto compatible Ideal Lux downlight housings, covering the gap between the fitting and the ceiling cut-out to give a finished appearance.

Designed for use with 50-70mm recessed downlights in residential and commercial ceilings, the Glistenis trim frame suits kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and retail spaces where a clean white finish is preferred. The 77mm outer diameter covers typical ceiling cut-outs for small-to-medium recessed fittings while the internal aperture allows the downlight beam to pass through without obstruction. The white finish blends with white and light-coloured ceilings, reducing visual contrast between the fitting and the ceiling plane.

The frame is manufactured from durable polymer with a matt white surface that resists minor scuffs during installation. The material remains stable under typical ceiling temperatures and does not yellow over time when paired with LED downlights. Installation requires no tools — the frame clips into place over the downlight housing after the fitting has been recessed into the ceiling. Ideal Lux provides a 5-year warranty on the frame.

Yes. The frame can be unclipped from the housing, allowing the ceiling around the downlight to be repainted or redecorated, then re-clipped into place without disturbing the wiring or the recessed housing.

Does the frame reduce the light output?

No. The internal aperture is sized to allow the downlight beam to pass through without obstruction. The frame conceals the cut-out edge but does not mask or reduce the effective beam angle or lumen output of the downlight.
