Description

The Glintis is a 300mm LED bathroom mirror light with a cylindrical opal polycarbonate diffuser mounted on a white powder-coated aluminium backplate. The integrated 9.5W LED produces 4000K cool white light designed to match natural daylight for grooming tasks including makeup application, shaving and general mirror use. The IP44 rating protects the fitting against water splashes, making it suitable for installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3 above and around basins and mirrors.

Designed for mounting horizontally above or beside bathroom mirrors, the Glintis provides even facial illumination without harsh shadows. The 70mm projection from the wall positions the 300mm tube parallel to mirror edges, with the opal diffuser softening the LED output into a continuous light bar rather than visible point sources. The fitting works in bathrooms with mirrors between 400-800mm wide, positioned centrally above the mirror or paired symmetrically on either side.

The powder-coated cast aluminium body resists moisture and corrosion in humid bathroom environments, while the white finish integrates with white tiles, sanitaryware and painted walls. The opal polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and distributes light evenly along the 300mm length without hot spots. The non-dimmable LED draws 9.5W at 230V and is designed for continuous operation in bathrooms that maintain higher ambient humidity than other rooms.

What bathroom zones can this light be used in?

The IP44 rating makes the Glintis suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which includes areas above washbasins and mirrors where water splashes may occur. It cannot be used in zone 0 (inside baths or showers) or zone 1 (directly above baths or within shower enclosures).

Why is 4000K recommended for bathroom mirrors?

The 4000K colour temperature produces cool white light that closely resembles natural daylight. This gives accurate colour rendering for grooming tasks, makeup application and shaving, where warm yellower light can distort how colours and skin tones appear.

Can this light be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs at a fixed 9.5W output on 230V mains. Attempting to connect it to a dimmer circuit may cause flicker or damage the LED driver.

How is it mounted?

The fitting mounts horizontally on a standard bathroom ceiling rose or wall junction box. The white backplate fixes to the wall with screws, and the diffuser tube clips onto the backplate. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with bathroom electrical safety zones.
