Description

The Glintis is a 300mm LED bathroom mirror light built around a cylindrical opal polycarbonate diffuser mounted on a powder-coated cast aluminium backplate finished in grey. An integrated 9.5W LED inside the diffuser emits 4000K neutral white light, providing functional task illumination for mirrors without the need for separate bulbs.

Designed for installation above bathroom mirrors, the Glintis suits vanity units, shaving mirrors and wall-mounted mirrors in bathrooms and cloakrooms with ceiling heights of 2.1m or higher. The 300mm length covers typical 600-800mm mirror widths without overspill, and the opal diffuser spreads the light evenly across the mirror surface to reduce shadows during grooming tasks. The 70mm projection clears most mirror edges and allows the light to sit flush against the wall when the mirror is inset.

The IP44 rating protects the internals against splashes from all directions, making the fitting safe for use in bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure). The powder-coated aluminium resists moisture and surface corrosion, and the grey finish provides a neutral backdrop that pairs with both cool and warm bathroom schemes. The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacements, though the fitting is not dimmable.

Can this be used inside a shower enclosure?

No. The IP44 rating protects against splashes but not direct water jets. The Glintis is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the immediate shower or bath area) but not zone 1 (inside the shower enclosure itself).

No. The integrated LED operates at a fixed 9.5W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

What colour temperature is the light?

The LED emits 4000K neutral white light, which sits between warm white (2700-3000K) and cool daylight (5000K+). This temperature suits task lighting for grooming, makeup application and shaving where accurate colour rendering is needed.

How is it mounted?

The backplate fixes directly to the wall using two screws (fixings not always supplied). Standard UK mains wiring connects behind the backplate. The 70mm projection allows the light to sit clear of most mirror edges when the mirror is flush or inset-mounted.
