Description

The Gelid is a 50cm diameter drum chandelier built around a polished chrome metal frame that holds rectangular cut crystals in a geometric grid pattern. Four E27 bulbs inside the drum (sold separately) light the crystals from within, creating prismatic reflections and a shimmering quality as the light passes through the faceted glass. The drum depth of 26.8cm gives the fitting a substantial cylindrical presence when viewed from below.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Gelid provides both ambient and decorative lighting. The adjustable chain allows the pendant to drop between 26.8cm and 47.5cm from the ceiling rose, giving flexibility to position the fitting at the right height for the room. The 50cm diameter suits spaces where a single pendant needs to provide balanced light across a 2-3m zone — typical over a round or square dining table seating four to six.

The rectangular crystals are set in a repeating grid within the chrome framework, with tighter vertical spacing in two central bands and wider spacing around the circumference. This creates a rhythm to the pattern and concentrates the prismatic effect towards the centre of the drum when lit. The polished chrome finish on the metal frame reflects ambient room light and pairs cleanly with both cool-toned contemporary interiors and warmer traditional schemes. Is the Gelid dimmable?

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor spaces only and must not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks or hobs, or any location where moisture or steam is present.
