Description
The Future is a 103cm-wide geometric horse sculpture built from fiberglass and polyester resin, finished in gold paint. The entire form is constructed from angular facets rather than smooth curves, creating a polyhedral interpretation of a horse in mid-stride. Each plane reflects light differently, so the sculpture's appearance shifts throughout the day as sun angles change.
Designed for outdoor display on patios, beside entranceways, in architectural gardens or on poolside terracing, the fiberglass construction withstands UV exposure and wet weather better than painted metal or natural stone. At 8.6kg the sculpture is light enough to be repositioned by one person but substantial enough to remain stable in wind when placed on a flat surface. The 75cm height suits plinth display or direct ground placement depending on the surrounding architecture.
The gold paint finish is applied over the entire fiberglass surface, catching direct sunlight with high reflectivity and creating contrast against shadow areas where facets angle away from the light source. The angular geometry gives the piece a contemporary edge that pairs with modern residential exteriors, hospitality spaces and commercial property landscaping. The tail and mane are formed from the same faceted planes as the body, maintaining visual consistency across the entire sculpture.
Schuller manufactures the Future series in Spain, casting each sculpture from moulds and hand-finishing the paint application. The fiberglass composite resists cracking and colour fade better than traditional outdoor sculpture materials, requiring only occasional cleaning with water to maintain appearance.

Frequently Asked
Is this suitable for outdoor use in UK weather?
Yes. The fiberglass and polyester resin construction withstands UV exposure, rain and temperature variation. The gold paint finish is applied for outdoor durability. For maximum longevity, avoid placing the sculpture where it receives constant standing water or in areas with prolonged freezing conditions.
Does it need to be fixed to the ground?
The sculpture weighs 8.6kg and has a 103cm x 29cm footprint, which provides stability on flat surfaces in most conditions. In exposed positions subject to strong wind, additional securing may be advisable — the base can be weighted or fixed depending on the surface material.
How is it cleaned?
Rinse with clean water using a soft cloth or low-pressure hose. For stubborn marks, use a mild detergent solution and rinse thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners or high-pressure washing, which can damage the paint finish.
Can it be displayed indoors?
Yes. While designed for outdoor use, the sculpture works equally well as an interior statement piece in entrance halls, living spaces or commercial interiors with high ceilings and contemporary design.
