Freyr Outdoor Round Wall Light - Graphite

The Freyr is a 165mm round outdoor wall light with a graphite polyester powder-coated die-cast aluminium body and an integrated 6W 3000K LED behind a polycarbonate lens. The hooded design directs light downward through horizontal louvres, reducing upward light spill and making the fitting suitable for dark-sky sensitive locations where light pollution restrictions apply.

Designed for exterior wall mounting on patios, pathways, entrance porches and garage sides, the Freyr provides ambient downlighting rather than direct illumination. The louvred aperture casts striped shadow patterns on the wall below while the LED produces warm white light at 3000K. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed locations but not for direct hose-down or submersion.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting durability in coastal and urban environments without the weight of solid brass. The graphite finish is a mid-tone grey with a slight texture from the powder coating process, pairing well with rendered walls, brick, stone and timber cladding in both contemporary and industrial-style builds. At 90mm projection from the wall, the Freyr sits close to the mounting surface without protruding into walkways.

What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?

IP54 provides protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any angle. The Freyr can be used in exposed outdoor locations including under eaves, on open porches and on exterior walls subject to rain, but it should not be hosed down directly or installed where it would be submerged.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. LED lifespan is typically rated at 25,000-30,000 hours depending on usage conditions. At 4 hours per evening, this equates to approximately 17-20 years of use.

What is the light output and spread?

The 6W LED at 3000K provides warm white downlighting through horizontal louvres. The hooded design directs most light downward onto the wall and ground below, rather than projecting light outward into the space. This makes it suitable for ambient pathway lighting rather than security floodlighting.

Can it be used in coastal environments?

The die-cast aluminium body with polyester powder coating provides good corrosion resistance in most UK coastal locations. For properties within 500m of the sea or in particularly harsh salt-spray environments, regular inspection and occasional cleaning with fresh water will extend the finish life.
