Description

A small round downlight with a matt white trim, finished so the fitting reads quietly against a painted ceiling and the light does the talking. A COB LED sits behind the face and throws a fairly tight, directional beam, which is what makes it useful over worktops, treads and floors rather than for washing a whole wall. The light is cool white, a crisp 4000K that keeps whites looking white and greys clean, from a 7W draw.

Kitchens, hallways, utility rooms and landings are where this size earns its keep, and it suits a run or a grid of several rather than a single point. The 75mm cut-out is the common domestic size, so it is one we suggest when someone is matching in with downlights already in a ceiling. It is not dimmable, so plan it on a plain switch and put the dimming elsewhere in the room. Keep it to dry rooms inside the house; a shower area or an open porch wants something sealed instead.

The driver comes with it, so there is nothing extra to source, and the fitting is double insulated. It carries a three year warranty. Because the LED is built in, there is no lamp to change and nothing to unclip; the whole unit is the light source. To keep it looking new, turn the circuit off and pass a dry cloth over the trim now and then, as dust settles quickly on a white face in a kitchen.
