Description

A small round trim in matt white, set to sit level with the ceiling and go quiet once the lights are on. Behind the aperture is a COB LED drawing 7W, giving a warm white 3000K light with a fairly tight spread, so it lands as a pool on the floor rather than a general wash. The driver comes supplied with it, and the output is fixed rather than dimmable.

With a 75mm cut-out it is one of the smaller downlights we keep, which counts for a lot in a hallway or on a landing where the ceiling is already busy with a smoke alarm and a loft hatch. We would run a line of them along a corridor, or space them across a bedroom or study where a pendant would sit awkwardly. It is a fitting for dry rooms, so keep it to living spaces and away from anywhere it might catch steam or splashing.

The body is finished in matt white throughout, visible trim included, so it reads as part of a painted ceiling rather than an object stuck on it. The LED is integrated, which means there is no lamp to swap and nothing to handle beyond the face: isolate the circuit, then draw a soft dry cloth across the trim to lift dust, and keep solvents away from the paint. It carries a three year warranty. The same round shape is also offered in a cooler white, and we stock swivel versions in both round and square if you would rather aim the beam at pictures or a wall of shelves, along with larger sizes in the same matt white where a room wants more light from each fitting.
