Description

This is a round downlight with a matt white trim, made to drop into a 100mm cut-out and keep the ceiling line quiet. The light source is a COB LED built in, drawing 12W and giving 1040 lumens of warm white light, with the driver supplied alongside. It is not dimmable, so it suits a plain switch, or a group of fittings you want at full output every time.

We reach for downlights like this in kitchens, hallways and landings, where a run of them across a ceiling does the work of a larger fitting without taking up any visual room. The beam is fairly tight rather than a broad wash, which makes it good over a worktop, along a corridor or above a stair, and useful for picking out a shelf or a framed print. The warm tone keeps rooms soft rather than clinical, so bedrooms and sitting rooms take it happily as well. It is meant for dry rooms indoors, on an ordinary household circuit.

The housing is compact and round, finished in matt white so the trim reads as part of the ceiling rather than as hardware, and it is double insulated. Because the LED is integral, there is no lamp to change over the life of the fitting, and it carries a three year warranty. To clean, switch the light off at the wall, let it cool and wipe the visible trim with a dry cloth, keeping sprays and solvents away from the lens. We stock the same range in a smaller round size, and in a swivel version in both round and square if you would rather angle the beam at a wall or a work surface.
