Description

The Focus S is a 15cm cylindrical wall light in matt black aluminium with two GU10 bulb fittings positioned at opposite ends of the cylinder. The fitting casts light both upwards and downwards from a 5.2cm diameter body, creating dual light pools on the wall surface while the central cylinder remains dark. Each GU10 socket accepts bulbs up to 10W (sold separately).

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedroom feature walls and office corridors where directional accent light is needed without a full wash of ambient light, the Focus S fits flush to the wall on a circular backplate. The dual beam configuration highlights architectural features such as textured plaster, exposed brickwork or timber panelling above and below the fitting. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations.

The matt black finish on the aluminium body absorbs reflections and pairs with both industrial-style interiors and contemporary schemes using dark accents. The 15cm height gives the fitting a vertical profile that works well in narrow hallway runs or flanking doorways, where a wider or projecting fitting would intrude into circulation space. The cylindrical form sits 5.2cm proud of the wall once installed.

Installation requires standard UK mains wiring into the backplate terminals and fixing to a solid wall surface. The compact footprint and lightweight aluminium construction allow the fitting to be surface-mounted without needing a recessed back box, simplifying retrofit installations in existing plaster or masonry walls.

The Focus S takes two GU10 bulbs up to 10W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED GU10s at 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for accent lighting in hallways and feature walls.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is rated for dry indoor locations only and is not protected against moisture or splashing. For bathrooms, a minimum IP44 rating is required in zones near water sources.
