Description

The Exility is a 2m recessed magnetic track designed for flush installation into 12.5mm plasterboard ceilings, running on a 48V DC low-voltage system. The black aluminium channel measures 70mm wide by 46mm deep and sits completely recessed once installed, leaving only the magnetic contact rails visible at ceiling level. Track fittings attach magnetically to these rails without tools, allowing spotlights and pendant adaptors to be repositioned or removed without re-wiring.

Designed for residential kitchens, hallways, offices and retail interiors where visible track systems would interrupt clean ceiling lines, the Exility sits flush with the plasterboard surface once the ceiling is finished. The 48V DC supply separates the track power from mains voltage, meaning track fittings can be handled and repositioned safely during use. The 2m length suits most single-room installations and can be cut to shorter runs on site if needed.

The black anodised aluminium finish matches other black ceiling details (downlight trims, air vents, smoke detectors) and pairs with both light and dark ceiling colours without creating the visual interruption of a white or silver track. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces — not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor canopies. The track requires a separate 48V DC driver (sold separately) and accepts only magnetic track fittings rated for 48V DC operation.

What depth of ceiling void is needed?

The track channel is 46mm deep, so the ceiling void above the plasterboard needs to be at least 50mm clear to accommodate the track body and allow for installation tolerances. Most modern residential ceiling voids of 100-150mm depth will have sufficient clearance.

Can the track be cut to length on site?

Yes. The 2m aluminium channel can be cut shorter using a fine-toothed metal saw or a mitre saw with an aluminium-cutting blade. Deburr the cut edges before installing track fittings.

What fittings does it accept?

The Exility accepts magnetic track fittings rated for 48V DC operation. These include adjustable spotlights, fixed downlights and pendant adaptors that attach magnetically to the contact rails without tools. Fittings from the Maytoni Exility magnetic range are confirmed compatible.

Is a separate driver needed?

Yes. The track runs on 48V DC, so a mains-to-48V DC driver is required and sold separately. The driver must be sized to handle the combined wattage of all fittings installed on the track, plus a 20% safety margin.
