Description

El Arbol is a 190cm standing figurative sculpture finished in bright gold plating over a fiberglass and polyester resin body, mounted on a 35cm circular matt black base. The figure holds a single opal acrylic sphere in its raised hand, which houses an integrated E27 LED lamp rated at 20W, 900lm and 3000K warm white light. The sculpture functions as both a floor-standing art piece and a functional ambient light source.

Designed for entrance halls, reception areas, living rooms and gallery-style interiors with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the El Arbol suits spaces where a vertical accent is needed without furniture or wall fixings. The 40cm width and 35cm depth give the sculpture a modest footprint relative to its height, allowing it to sit in corners, alcoves or beside stairwells without obstructing circulation. The black base provides ballast and visual grounding for the gold-plated upper body.

The gold finish is a high-gloss electroplating applied to the moulded fiberglass and resin form, which catches and reflects ambient room light during the day and creates warm metallic highlights when the LED is switched on at night. The opal acrylic shade diffuses the LED output into a soft glow rather than a directional beam, turning the sphere itself into the visible light source. The sculpture uses a standard E27 bulb holder. The supplied LED can be replaced with any E27 bulb up to 20W, though Schuller recommends staying with warm white (3000K) to maintain the intended ambient effect.

Does the sculpture require assembly?

Yes. The figure is supplied separately from the base and requires assembly using the instructions provided in the Downloads section. The electrical connection is made during assembly before the figure is secured to the base.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 190cm height suits rooms with standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower-ceiling spaces the sculpture may feel visually compressed unless positioned in a double-height area or entrance hall.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. El Arbol is rated Class 1 with no IP protection and is designed for indoor use only. The fiberglass and resin body is not weatherproofed and the gold plating would degrade if exposed to moisture or UV.
