Description

El Arbol is a 190cm bronze-finish floor lamp built around a flowing female figure sculpted from fiberglass and polyester resin, holding a single opal acrylic sphere above her head. The sphere houses an integrated E27 LED lamp that casts 900 lumens of 3000K warm light diffused through the opal shade. The figure stands on a matt black circular metal base, and the bronze finish over the resin body gives the piece a metallic patina without the weight of solid metal.

Designed by Spanish manufacturer Schuller as both sculptural art and functional lighting, El Arbol suits entrance halls, corners of living rooms, and gallery-style bedroom settings where ceiling heights exceed 2.2m and there is space for a statement piece with a 40cm x 35cm footprint. The 190cm height places the light source above typical eye level when standing, so the opal sphere acts as ambient uplight and indirect wash rather than task lighting. The lamp plugs into a standard UK socket and the cable runs from the base.

The fiberglass construction keeps the total weight to 7.7kg despite the 1.9m height, making the lamp easier to position and move than a solid bronze sculpture of similar scale. The resin surface accepts the bronze finish as a coating, so the tone is consistent across the figure's curves and folds without the oxidation or green patina that develops on genuine bronze over time. What ceiling height is needed for this lamp?

The 190cm height works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or higher. In lower-ceilinged rooms the opal sphere may sit uncomfortably close to the ceiling, reducing the uplight effect.

Can the bulb be replaced?

Yes. The lamp uses a standard E27 fitting rated up to 60W. The integrated LED can be replaced with any E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb of equivalent or lower wattage.

Is the bronze finish on solid metal?

No. The figure is sculpted from fiberglass and polyester resin with a bronze-tone coating. This keeps the weight to 7.7kg and prevents the green oxidation that develops on genuine bronze.

How is the lamp assembled?
