Duracell CR1632 3V Lithium Coin Battery

This is a single Duracell CR1632 lithium coin cell, supplied on its own blister card. The retail pack prints the code as DL/CR1632, so if the cell you are replacing carries either marking you are in the right place. It gives 3V, which is what lithium chemistry delivers from one cell and what the devices built around this size expect. The four digits are the measurement: 16mm across and 3.2mm thick.

Coin cells this size turn up in car key fobs and alarm remotes, slim calculators, digital thermometers, tyre pressure sensors, small medical monitors and a good number of watches. Several CR sizes share the same 16mm diameter, so the reliable check is the code printed on the flat face of the old cell rather than a look alike match: a CR1620 is the same width but thinner, and a CR2032 is wider again and will not seat. When you swap it, lever the old cell out with a plastic tool rather than anything metal, and hold the new one by its edge so both faces stay clean.

Is DL1632 the same thing as CR1632?

Yes. DL is the manufacturer's own prefix and CR is the industry code for a lithium coin cell, which is why the pack prints both as DL/CR1632 on a single line.

Will a CR1620 or a CR2032 fit instead?

No. A CR1620 shares the 16mm width but is thinner, so it sits loose and loses contact, and a CR2032 is 20mm across and will not go into the holder at all.

How many cells do I actually receive?

One cell per card. The minimum order on this listing is ten cards, sold in multiples of ten, so the smallest purchase brings you ten separate cells.

What voltage does one cell give, and can I use two?

A single cell gives 3V, twice that of an alkaline AA or AAA. Only fit the number of cells the device holder is made for; never stack an extra one in.

How long will it last in a key fob?

The manufacturer does not print a runtime figure, and it depends entirely on how often the device draws current. Nothing on the pack states a shelf life either.

Why is the card so difficult to open?

It is a baby secure pack, sealed behind board that has to be cut rather than peeled, so a small cell cannot be worked free by a child. Use scissors.
