Description

The Knightsbridge GDM016MB is a dual USB charger module designed to fit grid-style faceplates, delivering 5V DC at 2.4A shared output across two USB-A ports. The module occupies two adjacent grid positions on a Knightsbridge Grid faceplate and installs from the front, sitting flush with the surrounding grid modules once clipped into place.

Designed for residential and commercial installation where grid plates are preferred over pre-fabricated socket units, the module allows USB charging to be added to custom grid configurations alongside switches, sockets and data modules. The 2.4A shared output handles simultaneous charging of two smartphones or a tablet and a phone, with the current split automatically between devices. The module draws from standard 230V 50Hz mains wiring concealed behind the grid plate.

The matt black finish matches Knightsbridge's matt black grid plate range, providing a consistent appearance across multi-module installations. The module body is constructed from ABS plastic and steel, certified to EN 62368-1:2014+A11:2017 for electrical safety. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for dry indoor environments but not bathrooms or outdoor locations. A minimum 35mm back box depth is required to accommodate the 34.1mm recessed depth of the module body.
