Description

The Dryden is a single-arm bathroom wall light cast from solid brass and finished in polished nickel, with a fluted glass shade that sits atop a tapered arm extending from an oval backplate. The fitting includes a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K and carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 where occasional water spray occurs.

Designed for installation either side of a mirror above a basin or along a hallway where a compact wall-mounted light source is needed, the Dryden projects 140mm from the wall and stands 330mm tall. The ribbed glass diffuses the LED output into soft ambient light rather than a focused beam, reducing glare when positioned at eye level. The included G9 LED is non-dimmable as supplied, though compatible dimmable G9 bulbs are available separately if paired with the correct dimmer.

The solid brass construction gives the fitting durability in humid bathroom environments, where moisture can corrode lighter alloys over time. The polished nickel finish sits between chrome and brushed nickel in reflectivity, offering a warmer tone than polished chrome without the matt appearance of brushed finishes. The oval backplate measures 140mm at its widest point and conceals the wall fixing points behind the plated surface.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which are areas around a bath or shower where occasional water spray may occur but not direct jets. It is not rated for zone 1 (inside a shower enclosure).

Is the LED bulb dimmable?

The included 3W G9 LED bulb is non-dimmable. If dimming is required, the bulb can be replaced with a dimmable G9 LED (sold separately) and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.

What is the difference between polished nickel and polished chrome?

Polished nickel has a warmer, slightly softer tone than polished chrome. Chrome tends towards a cooler, bluer reflection, while polished nickel sits closer to silver with a hint of warmth. Both are highly reflective finishes.
