Description

A small white converter that gives an E27 lampholder a GU10 socket instead. The body measures 35mm across and stands only a little proud, so it stays discreet inside a shade or behind a diffuser. A single GU10 lamp fits the front on the usual quarter turn, and lamps up to 50W are accepted. The white finish sits quietly against a pale shade lining, a white ceiling rose or the inside of a glass shade.

We keep these for the moment when a fitting is worth keeping but the lamp in it is not. If the lamp you want comes in GU10 and the holder you already own does not, this bridges the two with nothing else altered. It answers well in table lamps, pendants, wall lights and older fittings that came with a house, and it is just as useful when you are matching one room's lamps to another's. An LED reflector lamp is what we would pair with it. Dry indoor rooms are where it belongs: sitting rooms, bedrooms, landings and studies rather than a bathroom zone or anywhere outdoors.

The finish is white right through, and the piece is compact enough to vanish from view once a lamp is seated. To clean it, turn the circuit off, wait until the lamp is cool to handle, then pass a dry cloth over the white body only, keeping moisture and sprays well away from the contacts. It carries a one year warranty. Other pairings run through the same range, so a B22 or an E14 holder can be given a GU10 socket in the same way, and an E27 holder can be taken the other direction to B22 if that is the mismatch you have. Inline dimmers are offered in the range too. No lamp is supplied with the converter.
