Description

A small round spotlight with an integrated LED, finished in matt white so it reads quietly against a pale ceiling. The visible body measures 85mm across, and the light is cool white at 4000K, crisp rather than yellow. The 12W LED and its driver are built in, so there is no lamp to source. It is not dimmable, running at full output on an ordinary switch, and the beam is focused rather than broad, laying down a defined pool of light.

We reach for a spotlight like this where light needs to land on something in particular: a run of worktop, a reading chair, a shelf of books, a picture over the fireplace. The cool tone suits kitchens, utility rooms, garages and home offices, where accuracy matters more than atmosphere. Because the housing is compact, a few can be spaced down a hallway without the ceiling looking cluttered. It is one we suggest for rooms with lower ceilings, where anything hanging would be in the way. Dry interior rooms only: landings, studies and kitchens rather than shower rooms or open porches.

The fitting is double insulated, which means no earth is needed at the connection. Matt paint shows fingerprints less than gloss; when it does need attention, turn the power off, allow the fitting to cool, then wipe it over with a soft cloth barely damp with water and dry it at once. Abrasive creams and solvent cleaners will dull the paint, so keep them away. It carries a three year warranty.
