This is a pair of pillowcases from the Club Checkerboard range, worked in a waffle-textured checkerboard design rather than a printed one. The check is built into the cloth itself: raised, oblong blocks of waffle weave set against a smooth ground, so the pattern is something you feel as much as see. The blend is 52% polyester and 48% cotton, which gives you the cool touch and breathability of cotton alongside the crease-resistance and quick recovery that polyester brings. In the photograph the cloth reads as a warm burnt orange, the supplier's Pumpkin, with the textured squares catching the light a shade differently from the flat areas around them.
