Description

A vase, 30cm tall, in clear. A narrow neck holds a few tall stems upright without a frog or foam, which suits branches, pampas and dried grasses. Fill it densely and the glass disappears behind the arrangement. At 18cm wide it is about the width of a laptop. Vases group better than they stand alone. Three of different heights in the same material read as a collection, where three of the same height read as stock.

Glass borrows its colour from whatever sits behind it, so the same piece looks warmer against a painted wall than against a window. It shows dust sooner than an opaque finish, and cleans in seconds.

At 1.73kg it is heavy enough to stand on the floor without being knocked over by a passing foot.

Weight is worth a thought with anything tall. A light vase with a heavy arrangement in it is a spill waiting for a passing sleeve.
