Caelum 6 Light Glass Flush Ceiling Light - Chrome

The Caelum is a 50cm flush ceiling light built around a domed mirrored glass shade with a smoky gradient finish that darkens from the outer rim towards the centre, creating a reflective surface overhead. Cascading strands of faceted crystal hang inside the dome, visible through the mirrored glass and illuminated by six G9 LED bulbs mounted around the perimeter. The chrome base plate sits flush against the ceiling, giving the fitting a low 34.5cm projection suitable for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m.

Designed for bedrooms, sitting rooms and hallways where a traditional chandelier would hang too low, the Caelum provides ambient light distributed across the ceiling surface rather than concentrated downwards. The mirrored glass reflects ceiling colour and room surroundings, while the crystal strands catch and scatter light into small refracted points across the dome's interior. The six G9 bulbs are included, each rated at 10W and producing a combined 3,300 lumens on 230V mains. The fitting weighs 5.95kg and requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or solid ceiling structure — gravity toggles are supplied for plasterboard installation where joist location is not possible.

The smoky mirrored finish on the glass dome provides a cooler, more contemporary interpretation of traditional crystal flush fittings, pairing well with grey-toned interiors, polished chrome hardware and rooms where reflective surfaces are already present. The chrome base plate measures 50cm in diameter, making the Caelum large enough to anchor a ceiling above a double bed, a 6-8 seater dining table, or a hallway landing without overwhelming smaller bedrooms or compact lounges. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor use only.

Are the G9 bulbs included?

Yes. The Caelum is supplied with six G9 LED bulbs rated at 10W each, providing 3,300 lumens combined output. The bulbs are fitted at the factory and the light is ready to install on delivery.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 34.5cm projection from ceiling to base of the dome suits rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m. In rooms with ceilings below 2.3m the fitting may feel visually heavy, while ceilings above 2.7m can accommodate deeper pendant styles without clearance issues.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Caelum to dry indoor use only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, kitchens with high steam levels, or outdoor covered areas where moisture is present.

How is the mirrored glass cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the mirrored glass dome with a soft microfibre cloth, lightly dampened with distilled water if needed. Avoid household glass cleaners or sprays that may leave residue on the chrome or damage the mirrored coating. The crystal strands can be dusted with a dry soft brush or cloth.
