Description

This is the widest of the Cabrera round downlights, a broad matt white face that recesses into the ceiling and throws a wide, soft wash rather than a narrow beam. The integrated LED draws 30W and runs at 4000K, a clean neutral white that keeps colours honest and worktops looking crisp. Its driver is supplied with it. There is no dimming, so an ordinary switch is all it asks for.

At 300mm across, it covers a good deal of floor from a single point, which is handy in rooms where you would rather not pepper the ceiling with small fittings. We use it in kitchens, utility rooms and workshops, and it earns its place on a wide landing or in a hall where the ceiling is high enough to spread the light out. The neutral white suits task areas, so think food prep, laundry, ironing and desk work rather than a quiet corner for reading in the evening. Keep it to dry rooms indoors.

The body is shallow and double insulated, and the matt white finish is flat enough not to catch reflections or show a bright edge when you look up at it. Dust settles on a pale trim, so give the visible rim an occasional pass with a dry cloth once the fitting has cooled, and leave solvents and sprays out of it. It carries a three year warranty. The LED is built in, so there is no separate lamp to source. Within the range we stock the same round shape in smaller diameters, and this size again in a warmer white if you want something gentler overhead.
