Description

This is a round downlight that sits recessed into the ceiling, finished in matt white so the visible rim reads as a quiet ring against a painted surface. The LED is integral and the driver is supplied with it, so the fitting comes as one piece. It draws 24W and gives 2160 lumens at 4000K, a crisp neutral white rather than a yellow one, thrown wide rather than tightly focused. It is not dimmable, so it is simply switched on and off.

We reach for the larger sizes in this range where a room wants fewer fittings and more light from each of them: kitchens, hallways, utility rooms, workshops and home offices. The cool white suits places where you need to see properly, over worktops, sinks, wardrobe rails and stairs, and it holds its own against daylight coming in at a window. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, though. There is no seal here against splashing, so a shower zone or an open porch wants a fitting rated for wet conditions instead.

The body stays shallow for a face of this width, and the white front is matt rather than glossy, which keeps glare and reflections down when you are sitting beneath it. Nothing is consumable: the LED is fixed in place, so there is no lamp to swap and no glass to unclip. If the rim gathers dust, turn the power off at the switch and run a dry cloth around it, and leave solvents and metal polishes well alone. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the Cabrera range in two smaller diameters for closer spacing, and this same size is also offered in a warmer colour temperature if you would rather the light leaned soft.
